Celebrating Professional Milestones

Friday, March 7, 2025

A toast to so many accomplishments in the long path to practice, and to all the many milestones that come after! 🥂

Last week on February 25 we were proud to host our first-ever Milestone Party, a new event celebrating the many professional milestones on the long path to practice and licensure. In an evening that featured plenty of food and drinks, and surrounded by friends, colleagues and mentors, attendees celebrated a wide variety of professional milestones—many related to the path to architectural licensure, but also other professional milestones that reflect the wide variety of career paths pursued by those with an architectural education. Among the milestones being celebrated, attendees were raising a glass to:

The evening was also an opportunity to reflect on what could make the journey easier for future emerging professionals, with those in attendance highlighting the importance of early-career networking opportunities as key to professional development, as well as the difference finding a mentor can have in making the process a little easier. Another recurring theme was the lack of clarity many attendees felt at the beginning of their professional journeys in terms of schooling, path to licensure, and career options—definitely something where the TSA may be able to help!

With the party now all wrapped up and not a crumb of cake left on the plate, we want to take the opportunity to say thank you to the over 120 attendees that joined us for this new initiative—it wouldn’t have been much of a party without you!—, as well as to the Initiative Leads, event volunteers and TSA staff who worked throughout the night (and for many months beforehand) to make this inaugural Milestone Party such a success.

Thank you as well to Becoming Architects Canada  | Devenir Architecte Canada for working with us to conceive of this event, and of course to the Ontario Association of Architects for their financial support of our Milestone Party through Local Society Special Project Funding.

For now, one final cheer for all those celebrating professional milestones this year! We can’t wait to celebrate even more accomplishments next year.
